WHAT TO EXPECT FROM HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY
Since this is such a highly customized treatment, we will test your hormone levels to determine the amount of estrogen or testosterone you need. A tiny incision will be made in a selected area of your body, and a pellet containing the hormones will be inserted under your skin to deliver the dose gradually. Patients may experience side effects, such as acne, hair growth, and mood swings, as the body adjusts to the new hormone levels. Over the course of your therapy, you’ll return to our office for several follow-up appointments so we can monitor your progress. You should start to see improvements in your symptoms within about 2 – 3 weeks of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
